Kidnapping: Ghanaians should take their personal security serious – Security Analyst

Security Analyst, Adib Saani has urged Ghanaians to be mindful of their environment by looking out for movements and people who act in an unusual manner.

He believes one of the ways to curb the rate of kidnapping in the country is to be each other’s keeper. He added that with the recent threat of terrorism, being conservative as Ghanaians should be a thing of the past as everything matters.

Adib Saani called on Ghanaians to make a conscious effort to protect themselves instead of relying solely on the Ghana Police Service for protection.

“…In our neighborhood we don’t look out for people who act in a suspicious manner, we don’t look out for unusual movements and unusual people in our communities because we are perhaps a conservative society you say you are minding your business, but I think that should be a think of the past as we live in a very dangerous world now.”

Adib Saani urged women, especially the single ones, to be more careful when dealing with artisans and other unknown individuals who offer them assistance.

“Women are very vulnerable, so you can misrepresent. Make him think that you have a partner living with you else they might come after you in the night.”

He advised car owners to rush to the nearest police station or public space to seek help if they suspect they are been followed.

The Security Analyst further noted that that the police can not provide everyone 24hour protection as there aren’t enough personnel in the service.
