Bishop Obinim Still In Police Custody After Failing To Meet Bail Conditions

Information reaching this news portal points out that Head Bishop of International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim, is still in police custody after he FAILED to meet his bailing conditions.

This was confirmed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ms. Juliana Obeng, Head of the Public Affairs Unit of CID today the 20th of May, 2020.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, has charged Obinim with the offenses of publication of false news and forgery of document contrary to sections 208 and 159 of the Criminal and other offenses Act, (1960) (ACT 29) respectively.

Bishop Obinim was sent to the Magistrate Court Accra and has been granted bail in the sum of GHS100,000 with three sureties, one person to be justified.

The controversial man of God was arrested on Tuesday, 19 May 2020 following allegations leveled against him by Assin North MP Kennedy Agyapong.

‘’Obinim has failed to meet the bail conditions so until he meets the conditions, he will continue to the police custody,’’ DSP Juliana Obeng told Kumasi-based Hello FM on Wednesday morning.
