Government Considering Total Lockdown Of The Country – Akuffo Addo

Ghanaian president, Nana Akuffo Addo has disclosed that his government is deliberating on calls by Ghanaians to declare the total lockdown of the country to forestall further spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

He disclosed this at a meeting with the leadership of TUC in Accra today the 26th of March, 2020.

This comes after confirmed cases jumped from 93 with 4 confirmed deaths as of yesterday to 132 positive cases.

Across the world, many countries have declared lockdown in order to curb the rapid spread of the disease as it has proven to be the best possible way as we all await a cure.

According to the president, the majority of Ghanaians especially ordinary people will be affected by a decision of such magnitude. It will come with its many implications. His government is currently at the discussion table trying to device means to contain those inevitable circumstances and sooner than later, Ghanaians will be made aware of the outcome.
