POWER CRISIS: ECG to Embark on a 8 Days power outage in parts of Accra; Releases Time Table for Day One

Parts of Accra will from today 10 May 2021 experience intermittent power outage lasting for eight days, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced.

The scheduled outages will help ECG to undertake some works to improve power supply to the North-Eastern part of the Greater Accra Region.

A statement issued by the power provider said affected areas will experience power interruption between 6:00am and 6:00pm, as well as 6:00pm and 6:00am within the scheduled period.

“This will occur in more than 40 communities, which have been placed in four different groups – A, B, C and D. Power is expected to stabilize by May 17 2021,” a statement from ECG said.

The affected areas include Dansoman, Abeka Lapaz, Awoshie, Odorkor, Mataheko, Bubiashie, McCarthy Hill, Mallam, Mataheko, Gbawe among others.

The eight-day intermittent power outage will enable the Electricity Company of Ghana to undertake some works to improve power supply to the North-Eastern part of the Greater Accra Region
