Genevieve Nnaji Pens Emotional Letter To Prez Buhari Amid #ENDSARS Protest

Popular Nigerian actress and producer, Genevieve Nnaji has sent an emotional message to incumbent Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari act swiftly to restore peace between citizens and the police.

Hundreds of people have protested against alleged police brutality for a second day across Nigeria after a video of a man allegedly being killed by police went viral.

Anger has been brewing on social media after the video of the alleged killing in the southern Delta state, which authorities denied was real.

The man who filmed the video was arrested, provoking even more anger.

Hundreds of youths gathered in Ikeja in central Lagos on Friday, holding banners reading “respect for human rights” and “a more equal society”.

Many Nigerians celebrities have come out to voice out their displeasure the ongoing protest and throwing their support for the protesters as they seek justice.

The actress is the latest Nigerian Celeb to have joined the #ENDSARS trending on social media. She took to her official twitter page to voice out her displeasure on the issue.

According to her, her niece who’s just 13-years was brutalized by a police officer after she questioned the officer for collecting her laptop. She also questioned the leadership qualities of  President Buhari. She said, “What our country is today is a reflection of your leadership, your legacy.”

Miss Nnaji noted that not everyone in Nigeria is a criminal and should not be treated as such, however, she blamed poverty as the result for the increase in crime and therefore urged the government to create more jobs for the youth.
