GFA Selects Gideon Fosu to Lead Black Princesses’ Management Committee

In a strategic move to enhance the prospects of Ghana in the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, Executive Council Member Gideon Fosu has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Black Princesses Committee.
This decision comes as part of a broader effort to revitalize the leadership of the national women’s under-20 football team.
Gideon Fosu, who currently holds the position of Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Division One League side Kings Palace FC, brings a wealth of experience to the role.
Additionally, he heads the Centralized Operations Unit (payment) of Ghana Commercial Bank, showcasing a diverse skill set that is expected to contribute significantly to the committee’s objectives.
Replacing Linford Asamoah Boadu, who led Ghana to success in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica in 2022, Gideon Fosu’s immediate focus will be on the final round qualifiers against Senegal.
Simon Ehomah, the Western Regional Football Association Chairman, will serve as Vice Chairman of the Committee.
The first leg fixture is scheduled for January 13 at Stad Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal, with the second leg taking place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on January 21, 2024.
The Management Committee of the National Team, responsible for the day-to-day running of the team, plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the team.
Their duties include setting strategic plans, acting as a liaison between the technical team and the FA, ensuring proper logistics, and maintaining a positive atmosphere in the team camp.
As Ghana gears up for the qualifiers, the newly appointed committee, led by Gideon Fosu, is poised to bring fresh insights and dedication to propel the Black Princesses towards success in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
