This Party Will Not Lose: Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh On NPP’s 2024 Pursuits

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Manhyia South seat of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated the party’s commitment to winning the 2024 elections.

Contrary to assertions that the incumbent party had fallen out of favor and was in danger of losing the upcoming vote, the energy minister declared that the NPP would not lose the elections.

He spoke at an Ashanti Region Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) convention iterating: “This party will not lose election 2024.”

According to Dr. Opoku Prempeh, the government’s actions to address the economic issues facing Ghanaians and the government will cause the problems to go away.

He said that, despite the evident challenges, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has shown leadership and competence, and that things would have become worse if the National Democratic Congress, the rival party, had been in charge of the Ghanaian economy.

In light of this, he urged the party’s young to be optimistic in the run-up to the 2024 elections, saying that certain party members who failed to advance in either the first or second term of the Nana Addo-led administration are wishing the party’s demise.

“No TESCON member should think or have a double mind about 2024. Our winning 2024 is your survival and that of the party. I’ll not like to go on retirement with a party in opposition.

If you don’t know go and ask former President Kufuor. He left power and went into opposition and how he felt under NDC in 8 years of opposition and the 6 years of NPP, which one does he prefer?

So it is better to be the garden boy of the ruling party than to be the landlord of the opposition party,” he asserted.
