Speaker Alban Bagbin’s Convoy Involved In a Fatal Accident, Dispatch Rider Dead

The convoy of Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Bagbin has been involved in an accident at Konongo in the Asante Akyem South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The advance team which was on its way to Wa to await the arrival of the Speaker was allegedly run into by a Nissan Sentra vehicle with registration number GT 2173-21 at Konongo leading to the death of the disptach rider, Chief Inspector Kaakyire Abednego.

The occupant of the vehicle allegedly attempted to overtake an articulator truck with registration number GR 6397 X ahead of him and in the process crushed the motorbike.

Narrating the incident as eyewitness, Mustapha Azure, the long vehicle driver said upon seeing the convoy he decided to pave way for them to pass, but unfortunately there was a Private car on top speed trying to overtake him which resulted in the death of the dispatch rider.

The Speaker, Mr Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin was not affected.
