OFFICIAL: GFA Finally Announce Black Stars Squad Ahead Clash With Nigeria

Ghana’s interim trainer Otto Addo has named a 27- man team for the Black Stars’ forthcoming FIFA World Cup playoff game against Nigeria.

The team was blazoned by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in the early hours of Tuesday, March 22, 2022.

The interim Black Stars coach Otto Addo named Joojo Wollacott, Abdul Manaf Nurudeen and Richard Ofori as the goalkeepers to face Nigeria.

Club Brugge protector Denis Odoi has also been handed a debut call-up and joins Andy Yiadom, Gideon Mensah, Alexander Djiku and Joseph Aidoo as the protectors invited.

Baba Iddrisu, Edmund Addo, Mohammed Kudus, Thomas Partey and Daniel Kofi Kyereh complete the midfield.

Meanwhile, AS Roma starlet Felix Afena-Gyan has also been handed a debut call-up and will contend against fellow forwards Christopher Antwi-Adjei and Kwasi Wriedt.

Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew has also been named in the team despite returning a positive COVID-19 test at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The first leg of the World Cup playoff game is listed for Friday, March 25, 2022, while the alternate leg will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

The first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff game between Ghana and Nigeria will be played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
