Ghana Imports 50,000 Medical Test Kits To Fight COVID-19 As Confirmed Cases Jumped From 19 To 21

The President of Ghana Nana Akuffo-Addo in a nation’s address has announced the importation of about 50,000 medical test kits to aid combat the novel COVID-19 in the country.

This came to light just moments after the President updated the nation on the latest situation with reference to how the government is dealing with the pandemic in a live broadcast on Saturday- March 21, 2020.

In a related development, one of the patients suffering from the covid-19 has sadly passed on in Kumasi.

The president also stated that the ministry of health will not only step up their tracing efforts but also make sure that all persons identified who have come into contact with affected persons are tested for the virus.

He also emphasized that more equipments are being procured to beef up supplies for our Frontline health workers.

On the other hand, the ministry of health is mobilising new and retired health care professionals to boost the preparedness in dealing with the possible solution to the virus he stated.
