Ben South Transitions from Social Media Skits to the Big Screen with the Historic Premiere of his Debut Film ‘24’
Ghanaian comedian and skit maker Ben South has etched his name in the country’s entertainment history by producing and premiering his debut movie, “24”, at the prestigious Silverbird Cinemas.
The star-studded premiere drew an impressive crowd of celebrities, media personalities, and entertainment executives, including King Promise, Ghana’s 2024 Artiste of the Year Kobi Rana, Jeffery Nortey, Albert Bondah, Maame Serwaa, Sammy Rasta, 39/40, Queci Official, AJ Brown, Hon. Asenso Boakye (MP for Bantama), and the CEO of the Ghana Music Awards USA.
Ben South’s transition from skit creation to full-scale movie production marks a major milestone in his creative journey. Known for his witty, relatable, and humorous online skits, he has steadily built a loyal fanbase that appreciates his unique storytelling and comedic style. His remarkable growth was further amplified when he featured in Sarkodie’s “No Sir” video, a moment that cemented his place among Ghana’s rising entertainment stars.
Before becoming a household name in comedy, Ben South trained and worked as a nurse, a career he eventually set aside to follow his passion for the arts. His leap of faith has paid off, with milestones such as his stand-up comedy debut at the “A Fool in April” show earlier this year and now, the successful premiere of “24”.
With “24”, Ben South proves that his creativity knows no bounds, evolving from short-form comedy content to the big screen while inspiring a new wave of digital creators in Ghana’s growing film and entertainment landscape.
