African Union Specialized Technical Committee on Youth, Sports and Culture Appoints Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie as Chairperson

Ghanaian cultural advocate and policymaker, Hon. Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has been unanimously elected Chairperson of the African Union Specialised Technical Committee (STC) on Youth, Sports and Culture.

Her election, endorsed by ministers and technical experts from across the continent, underscores her extensive experience and dedication to youth empowerment, cultural promotion, and the creative arts. The Specialised Technical Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping continental strategies and policy frameworks that guide Africa’s youth development, sports initiatives, and cultural heritage preservation.

Hon. Gomashie’s appointment comes at a critical time as Africa seeks to harness the potential of its youthful population and strengthen the creative and cultural sectors in alignment with Agenda 2063: The Africa We Want. Her leadership is expected to enhance coordination among AU Member States, foster inclusive cultural governance, and promote sports and youth initiatives as key drivers of sustainable development.
