Jospong Group Mourns the Passing of Dr. Omane Boamah and Hon. Murtala Muhammed

The Jospong Group of Companies has joined the nation in mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Ghana’s Defence Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, and Environment, Science and Technology Minister, Hon. Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, following a fatal military helicopter crash that also claimed six other lives.

In a statement released by the Executive Chairman of the Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, the organisation expressed its deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the Presidency, and the people of Ghana.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of these patriotic sons of the land, who served Ghana with integrity, passion, and dedication,” Dr. Agyepong stated. “On behalf of the entire Jospong Group, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

The Executive Chairman acknowledged the exceptional service and leadership exhibited by both ministers in their respective roles, praising their contribution to Ghana’s development and security architecture.

“Their commitment to building a better Ghana was unwavering. Their loss leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. We stand in solidarity with the Government and the families during this difficult time,” Dr. Agyepong added.

The Jospong Group of Companies, one of Ghana’s leading conglomerates, emphasised the need for unity and national reflection as the country comes to terms with the loss. It further called on all Ghanaians to honour the memory of the fallen patriots by upholding the values they stood for: integrity, dedication, and selfless service.

“We pray for strength for the families and loved ones left behind, and we commit to supporting national efforts to pay tribute to their legacy,” the statement concluded.
