In a significant turn of events, the Technical University Senior Administrators’ Association of Ghana (TUSAAG) has decided to suspend its impending strike action, originally slated to begin on Monday, January 8.
This resolution follows successful discussions with the Ministers for Education and Employment and Labour Relations, as announced in a press statement issued by TUSAAG on Monday.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress made during engagements with government officials, TUSAAG has called upon its members to remain calm and continue fulfilling their responsibilities according to their mandates.
The association credited the Minister of Education, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, the GTEC, the FWSC, and the commitment of the Vice Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana for the positive outcome.

The decision to suspend the strike action was prompted by the interventions made by the aforementioned stakeholders and the commitment to fully implement the Roll Over.
In the statement, TUSAAG highlighted the failure of some Technical University managements, particularly Accra Technical University (ATU) and Koforidua Technical University (KTU), to address the concerns of its members.
These concerns, specifically related to the implementation of roll-over conditions for qualified personnel, resulted in the premature termination of employment for affected staff members.
The NEC of TUSAAG emphasized that the suspension of the strike is effective immediately, signifying a collaborative effort between the association and the government to resolve the grievances raised by its members.
