Togbe Afede Defeated in National House of Chiefs Election

The Agbogbomafia of the Asogli State in the Volta Region, Togbe Afede, XIV has been defeated in his quest to be retained as President of the National House of Chiefs in an election that was held Thursday.

He lost to Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi II, Paramount Chief of Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area, in a landslide victory of 47 votes against 25.

Naa Puowele Karbo II, Lawra Naa is the Vice President-elect

Seven members of the house were exempted from voting by court action.
