The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has revealed that dancehall artiste Shatta Wale purchased his controversial 2019 Lamborghini Urus through a WhatsApp contact identified only as “ZAK.”

According to investigators, the musician, known privately as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., failed to present receipts, transfer documents, or official papers to prove legitimate ownership of the luxury car. Instead, he told officials that the transaction was conducted through informal exchanges on the messaging platform.

The Lamborghini was flagged by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in connection with a $4 million fraud case involving a convicted Ghanaian, Nana Kwabena Amuah. The vehicle was seized by EOCO earlier this year after being traced to Shatta Wale’s residence.

Following his interrogation, the artist was granted GH₵10 million bail with two sureties.

Meanwhile, his public relations officer, Samuel Atuobi Baah (Sammy Flex), has refuted speculation of money laundering. He explained that the issue primarily concerns tax obligations and assured fans that Shatta Wale’s legal team is actively engaging authorities to clear his name.

The case, which has attracted international attention due to its links with U.S. law enforcement, remains under investigation.
