The Sagnarigu office of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has once again fallen victim to vandalism, marking the second incident in less than two weeks.

The Sagnarigu office of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has once again fallen victim to vandalism, marking the second incident in less than two weeks.

Reports indicate that the act of vandalism was allegedly carried out by some youth affiliated with the party. The latest incident occurred today and was apparently triggered by accusations of misappropriation of fertilizers intended for distribution to the party’s supporters.

Just days before, on Friday, July 21, enraged supporters of the NPP in the Sagnarigu constituency had already vandalized the party’s office in response to claims that the constituency executives obstructed their access to nomination forms for Dr. Wahab Alhassan.

It was alleged that the executives were attempting to allow the 2020 candidate, Felicia Tettey, to run uncontested in the party’s upcoming parliamentary primaries.

The youth’s frustration over this issue has led to threats of voting against Felicia Tettey if she is permitted to go unopposed in the primaries. One of the angry supporters, Abdallah Murjana, expressed concerns that past problems and mistakes from the 2020 elections have not been addressed and are now being repeated.

The successive acts of vandalism have raised serious concerns about the internal conflicts within the NPP in the Sagnarigu constituency. Such incidents not only tarnish the party’s image but also threaten its unity and stability.

Party leaders and stakeholders are urged to address these internal disputes promptly and transparently to prevent further escalation of tensions. The NPP’s national leadership has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.

The police have been notified of the recent vandalism and are actively investigating the incidents. Authorities have assured the public that those responsible for the destruction will be brought to justice.

As the situation unfolds, the eyes of the nation remain on Sagnarigu, hoping for a peaceful resolution that preserves the democratic spirit of the party’s primaries.
