President Biden Warns Iran About Support for Russia and Hamas

In a televised address to the American people on Thursday night, October 19, U.S. President Joe Biden delivered a stern warning to Iran, indicating that the nation would be held accountable for its support of both Russia and the terrorist group, Hamas.

During his speech, the 80-year-old President connected the conflicts in Ukraine and Israel, emphasizing the need to prevent “terrorists like Hamas and Putin from winning.”

Biden pointed out that Iran was providing military assistance to both Russia and Hamas, the latter of which launched a devastating attack on Israel on October 8, resulting in the loss of 1,400 lives.

“Iran is supporting Russia in Ukraine and it’s supporting Hamas and other terrorist groups in the region,” President Biden stated. “We’ll continue to hold them accountable, I might add.”

The President implored Congress to pass a requested $100 billion in new funding, which faces resistance from numerous Congressional Republicans who are hesitant to allocate additional funds to Ukraine.

Sitting at the Resolute Desk, Biden argued in his 15-minute address that Russian President Vladimir Putin and the terrorist organization Hamas, responsible for the October 7 attack on Israel, “represent different threats” but share a common goal.

“They both want to completely annihilate a neighboring democracy,” he asserted.

Ukraine and Israel, despite their geographical distance, share a common adversary in Iran.

“American leadership is what holds the world together,” President Biden asserted. “American alliances are what keep us – America – safe. American values are what make us a partner that other nations want to work with.”

He concluded, “To put all that at risk if we walk away from Ukraine, we turn our backs on Israel – it’s just not worth it.”

The President’s remarks followed the Senate’s unanimous passage of a resolution supporting Israel’s right to self-defense and condemning Hamas’s attacks on civilians.

The resolution also condemned Iran’s support for global terrorism, including its support for terrorist groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

In response to these developments, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned on Tuesday that Muslims around the world and resistance forces might become impatient if Israel continues its actions in Gaza.

He cautioned that, “No matter what the Zionist regime does, it cannot make up for the scandalous failure it suffered.”

The situation remains complex and tense, with the international community closely monitoring developments in the region.
