Ghana’s Coronavirus Case count Jumps to 1,042 As President Lifts Ban On Lockdown
Ghana’s coronavirus case count has jumped to 1,042.
This was announced by President Nana Akufo-Addo during his address to the nation on Sunday evening.
According to the President, the main reason for the rise in numbers is due to the government’s bold initiate to embark on vigorous contact tracing and testing.
“the earlier measures announced on Wednesday 15th March are still very much in force and have not been relaxed. I’m demanding even greater appearance to these measures” he emphasized.
HE Akuffo Addo stated that, despite the upliftment of the partial lockdown in these Two Regions, no public conferences, workshops, partying, clubbing, festivals, funerals, beaches, political rallies, educational facilities both private and governmental facilities should operate. However, businesses and workplaces can commerce to operate but adhere to social distancing and hygiene protocols.
Commercial transports like Trotro and Taxis should also continue to run with minimum passengers to maintain social distancing. They are also supposed to maintain hygiene in both their cars and also at their various terminals by providing hand Sanitizers, running water and soap to wash their hands. The domestic airlines are also urged to do the same to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.

Meanwhile, an extra two weeks of border shut down has been extended due to illegal expatriates sneaking into the country using these borders.
