It seems the enthusiasm geared into UTV’s United Showbiz can’t be overlooked and needed massive credit. One of the industry players who can’t hide his admiration for the show is our very own Fred Kyei Mensah who constantly keeps updating fans and lovers of the show weekly on the good, the bad and the ugly. Take your time to read the juicy vibes he has for you as ENEWSGHANA.COM will periodically bring to you his writeups.

He Writes;

Abeiku Santana is gradually, warming himself in the comfortable seat of the United Showbiz on utv as a stand in for Nana Ama Mcbrown since her absence from the show to seek medical attention. Wish her a speedy recovery.
Yesterday’s show, featured two legends namely, Kwabena Nyamekye (Pat Thomas) and Solomon Ofosu Ware(Paa Solo) of the Sibo Brothers fame.

ISSUES ON BOARD

They discussed their journey of music life and i was astonished by the vivid description of events succinctly narrated by Paa Solo. He recounted his history and was able to mention most of the guys he interacted with during his music journey. Bravo! What an intuitive memory!
I remember them coming to Fredyma studios several years ago with the late Yaw Mensah, late Kujo Ansah, Kennedy and Kofi Essel, their producer and programmer to record some tracks.

Pat Thomas recalled his days with the Broadway Dance Band and Ebo Taylor . I quite remember vividly when he released his album “False Lover” in 1975. It was an instant hit! He’s gone through a lot with his alleged drug addiction stage. I thank God for his 75 years on this fleeting life journey.
Did some jingles with Pat Thomas through Nana Nkrumah.

They also touched on copyright, insurance and royalties. The most profound statement of the night, came from A Plus when he reiterated that, entertainment is a National Security issue which, i perfectly agree with him. Until and unless the creative industry is recognized as such, it will continue to wallow in the space we are placed.

STAGE

The performances on the night were solid. In fact, it was flawless for both legends. Thanks to the instrumentalists and the harmonies by the background vocals. Perfect delivery! Paa Solo, relived the early 90’s with his hits while Pat Thomas took us through songs from his repertoires, “Me gyidi so, Sika yɛ mogya, Gyae su, Wɔ ma me nka bi, Mabrɛ me ho and Bisa.

As for his voice and dynamics, don’t go there! You will never get bored with his performance. Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo was at his dancing best with Kency collection on display. Bulldogod, made some salient points about how the creative sector can reap its benefits. Abeiku Santana, started the show well with his rendition of Kwabena Kwabena’s song.

OBSERVATION

Will the producers kindly provide the instrumentalists with a bar chair to sit on during breaks from performances? The keyboardist stood for almost 3 hours of the program. It’s a punishment! As for the production, ink dey inside!
Kudos to the team led by the Godfather, Fadda Dickson and Kennedy Osei.
Utv, it’s all about you!
