EOCO Grants Shatta Wale Bail in High-Profile Lamborghini Case

Dancehall superstar Shatta Wale has been granted a GH₵10 million bail with two sureties following his detention by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over a controversial Lamborghini Urus case.
The artiste, legally known as Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., voluntarily appeared before EOCO on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, alongside his lawyer, Cephas Biyuo, to cooperate with investigators. His manager, Samuel Atuobi Baah (Sammy Flex), confirmed the bail, assuring fans that the legal team is working to meet all conditions.
The probe, EOCO revealed, is linked to tax obligations and company operations tied to the musician. It also connects to a 2019 Lamborghini Urus seized from Shatta Wale’s Trassaco Valley residence during a June operation.
According to a statement by EOCO’s Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, the seizure was executed upon a 2023 request by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Investigators in the U.S. had traced the luxury vehicle to Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the United States for financial crimes.
The FBI and DOJ are expected to officially request the return of the Lamborghini as part of a $4.7 million restitution order against Amuah. EOCO further disclosed that Shatta Wale had appealed for the seizure to remain private, fearing damage to his public image.
For now, both Shatta Wale and a former senior official of the National Signal Bureau remain key persons of interest, with EOCO hinting that additional questioning may follow as investigations continue.
