2022 World Cup: Messi And Alvarez Shine As Argentina Cruse Over Croatia To Finals

Argentina’s teacher and student, Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez, performed brilliantly together as they defeated Croatia at Lusail Stadium to get to their sixth World Cup final.
As Argentina has confirmed and proven they will return on Sunday to play either France or Morocco, Manchester City’s 22-year-old striker Alvarez dazzled during the game.
Interestingly enough, the young Argentinian lad was involved in all three goals of the night.
However, Messi now has one more chance to win the title that has eluded him throughout his trophy-filled career.
Early on, Lionel Messi seemed to be experiencing hamstring troubles, but after 34 minutes, he recovered enough to score from the penalty spot after Dominik Livakovic of Croatia fouled the intrepid Alvarez.
After grabbing Messi’s header in Croatian territory five minutes later, Alvarez went on a charging run and beat Livakovic with the help of fortunate bounces off of Josip Juranovic and Borna Sosa.
In addition, Messi captivated Croatia’s star defender Josko Gvardiol on the byline in the second half of the game before passing the ball to Alvarez for the goal.
As it stands now, Messi will now have the chance to make up for the agonizing disappointment of losing to Germany in the 2014 World Cup final at Rio de Janeiro’s illustrious Maracana.
