SEO / Content Writer / Blogger Job Vacancy

Company:

A reputable Digital company based in Kasoa seeks a passionate blogger. The company has a suite of fast-growing websites covering news in various African countries including but not limited to Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa.

Purpose of role: To grow or build the audience on our websites/social media pages by producing and sharing outstanding, engaging content. It is essential that the suitable candidate has the ability to drive considerable traffic via social.

Key accountabilities:

• Turn around copy and content quickly and accurately; mindful of legal issues; Copywriting skills must be sharp with the ability to write in multiple tones of voices.

• Check Google Trends to identify trending news stories that will drive search traffic to the site.

• Audit your articles throughout the day to make sure they’re optimized for SEO and that you’re updating content with SEO best practices

• Being able to write in a concise and entertaining way but still incorporating trending keywords into your copy.
• Manage social pages including but not limited to Facebook & Instagram.

• Being able to work as part of a team in a constantly adapting working environment that is always striving to find new ways of telling news stories.

• Working with the video desk and picture desk to maximum effect.

• Going above and beyond to help ensure our new operation is a huge success.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Excellent, fast writing, and basic subbing skills.
• Good command over the English language(creative writing)
• Familiarity with Google Trends and how to use the real-time data tool
• Familiarity with WordPress.
• Some basic video editing skills.
• Familiarity with Yoast SEO.
• Post at least 10 unique articles a day covering various niches including but not limited to Politics, Business, Entertainment, SportsTechLifestyleHealth & Fitness, and Jobs.

• Flexible attitude to working hours.
• Genuine ambition to progress and make the most of the opportunities that present themselves.
• Must have an entrepreneur type of attitude with a passion for blogging.

Job Types:

Remote, preferably living in Kasoa

Qualification:

HND/Degree

Candidates without the aforementioned qualifications but can demonstrate  blogging skills and drive traffic to our websites will also be considered.

Salary: Negotiable and dependant on skills and experience.
