Emmanuel Boateng to start pre-season with Yifang today

Emmanuel Boateng to start pre-season with Yifang today

Ghana forward Emmanuel Boateng will start official pre-season training with Dalian Yifang today (Wednesday).

Boateng joined Yifang last week from Levante for 11 Million Euros and was officially unveiled to the fans on Wednesday.

Dalian Yifang are currently in Shanghai preparing for the new Chinese season and footballmadeinghana.com can confirm that the attacker will join his peers there and hold his first training this evening.

The Black Stars striker is expected to spearhead coach Choi Kang-Hee attack as they seek to finish in the top ranks this season.

University of Ghana Test their own Version of VAR

University of Ghana, Legon, has raised the bar for media coverage in Ghana as they put to test their own version of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) cameras system in a match between their male football team and UMAT.

The experiment is the first time Ghana is using the VAR technology in a football match where Five cameras plus a drone were used to cover the match.

Images of the experimental technology could be mistaken for a FIFA VAR Team as the students demonstrated high level of intelligence. This is the first time any West African country has reported the introduction of VAR.

This experiment has put Ghana above other African countries in terms of sports coverage and will be a huge step for the Ghana Football Association to accept for the technology to have experimented in the Ghana Premier League or the Division One League.

Meanwhile, this local VAR system is set to be used in the next Ghana Premier League game between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko schedule for Sunday, January 27.

Black Stars Head Coach Kwesi Appiah has been sacked as the coach of the Ghana national team after the Ghana FA dissolved all technical teams of the national teams.

Appiah ended his contract as Black Stars head coach three days ago and there was no clear news about his future until this decision taken by the GFA on Thursday night.

Kwesi Appiah signed a two-year contract in May 2017 for a second stint with the Ghana national team.

Despite the initial running out in May last year, he was told to stay on for the two 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe -which he won.

Ghana, South Africa fight for Tokyo 2020 ticket

The Black Meteors must now beat South Africa to qualify for the Olympic Games. After falling to beat Ivory Coast in the semi-finals, Ghana will now face South Africa for a bronze medal and a ticket to Tokyo in the ongoing U23 AFCON tournament in Egypt.

The Black Meteors were beaten 3:2 on penalties in their semi-final clash with Ivory Coast after a 2:2 stalemate in regulation time on Tuesday.

South Africa were trounced by the host country Egypt 3:0 hours after the Ivory Coast-Ghans clash at the Cairo International Stadium.

The Black Meteors clash with the South Africans has been slated for Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2:30PM whiles Egypt take on Ivory Coast on the same day at 6:00PM.
