Gerard Piqué, Shakira’s ex, has just revealed his new relationship on social media.

The former professional soccer player uploaded a selfie on Instagram on Wednesday showing him cuddling with Clara Chia Marti, 23.

The picture was his first of Marti on his page, and there was no caption on it.

Recall that Shakira, and Piqué shared a statement in June announcing their separation.

“We regret to confirm that we are separating,” the exes said at the time.

“We ask for privacy at this moment for the well-being of our children, who are our maximum priority. Thank you in advance for your understanding and respect.”

Shakira & Piqué’s Former Relationship

The former couple, who are parents to 10-year-old Milan and 7-year-old Sasha, initially acknowledged their relationship in March 2011.

They first met while filming the music video for her song “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa),” which served as the FIFA World Cup 2010’s song.

Two weeks have passed since Shakira demeaned Piqué in her brand-new song, “BZRP Music Session #53,” which marks Piqué’s debut with Marti.

She sang in part, referencing her 2009 hit “She Wolf,” which was released just before the two met in 2010.

“Sorry baby, I should have thrown you out a while ago / A she-wolf like me is not for rookies / A she-wolf like me is not for boys like you,” she sang.

Shakira then appeared to go into greater depth about their split while chanting: “You left me with my mother-in-law as my neighbor / Media outlets at my door and in debt with the government,” the singer allegedly alluded to her ongoing tax fraud prosecution in Spain.

Additionally, Shakira stated in the song, “I’m too good for you, and that’s why you’re with someone like you,” in the chorus, which is repeated several times throughout the song.

Shakira welcomed 2023 with an emotional but positive message prior to the song’s release.

The artist stated that individuals who have experienced betrayal “must continue” to maintain their faith in an Instagram post that was written in both Spanish and English.

“Time has a surgeon’s hands, even though our wounds are still open in this new year,” she wrote.

“Even if someone has betrayed us, we must still have faith in other people. Never lose sight of your value, even in the face of disrespect.

Since there are more excellent people than immoral ones. Empathy is more prevalent than indifference. Fewer people depart from our side than do those who remain on our side.”
