Fan Milk Plc, a prominent manufacturer and distributor of dairy products and beverages in Ghana, has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Hervé Orama Barrere to the Board of Directors, effective November 29, 2023.
Furthermore, commencing January 1, 2024, Mr. Barrere is set to take on the role of Interim Managing Director, overseeing the business during the interim period following the departure of Ziobeieton Yeo, until a permanent replacement is identified.
Hervé Orama Barrere brings a wealth of operational and leadership expertise, acquired through a distinguished career that includes eight years in the banking industry and a 12-year tenure at Nestlé, where he held various positions, including Managing Director in the Congo and Central Africa regions.
Joining Danone in 2017, he assumed the role of Managing Director for Fan Milk Danone business in Nigeria before progressing to Managing Director of Danone Algeria business unit in 2019. Since the beginning of 2023, he has served as the Managing Director of Danone Southern Africa.
In his new capacity, Hervé will lead Fan Milk’s operations in West Africa and Danone’s business in South Africa, consolidating both units into a single cluster dedicated to Danone’s essential dairy and plant-based operations in sub-Saharan Africa.
This strategic move ensures a seamless transition for Fan Milk Plc, allowing for continued efficient operation. The interim period under Hervé Orama Barrere’s leadership will bridge the gap until a permanent replacement, based in Ghana and reporting to him, is appointed.
The company expressed gratitude to Ziobeieton Yeo for his dedicated service as Managing Director and Board member, acknowledging his decision to pursue new professional projects outside of Danone.
