Ex-Black Stars Player, Abu Imoro ‘Tigana’ Is Dead
Former Black Stars midfielder, Abu Imoro popularly known as ‘Tigana’ has passed away.
The President of Footballers Association of Ghana, Anthony Baffoe broke the news in a press statement.
Tigana reportedly died on Tuesday, June 28 2022 in Accra at around 3:00pm.
The retired footballer was a standout performer for the Accra Great Olympics and also turned out for Real Tamale United during his playing days.
He was a mainstay in the Black Stars teams around the 1980s.
Abu Imoro was a close friend to Abedi Pele during his playing days.
He was given the nickname Tigana after former French footballer Juan Tigana because of his tenacity on the ball, which was something the French footballer was known for.
