Enzo Fernandez, the Argentine international midfielder, has been given a new one-year contract extension by Chelsea, according to reports.

Despite having a deal that runs until 2031, the Premier League club has chosen to activate one of the clauses in his contract to extend his stay in London.

The Blues signed the 22-year-old from Real Madrid last summer and he has impressed since his arrival, establishing himself as a key player in Thomas Tuchel’s squad. He has made 29 appearances in all competitions, contributing three goals and three assists in the process.
