Apologise Or Get Banned – Film Producers Association of Ghana Tells Kofi Adjorlolo
After his recent rant, the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) has requested that veteran actor Kofi Adjorlolo renders an unqualified apology to the association for “disgracing” its members in public.
During a recent interview with Joy Prime, the veteran actor got so infuriated because of unpaid jobs he had done for some Ghanaian producers, stating that they should repent.
“Some of the producers in Ghana here, they should respect themselves…an old man like me, they call me to come and work and they can’t pay me…”
“About seven producers in this country owe me monies…why? And then I’m sitting at home, I’m hungry, and then when I’m sick too nobody pays attention…Look we have elderly people lying down on their sickbeds and these producers owe them. Actors in Ghana here know what I’m talking about, these producers don’t pay”, he said.
Kofi Adjorlolo further stated that he quit his broadcasting career after 17 years to enter the movie industry, but some producers have decided to engage him without fulfilling their parts of the deal.
However, Mr. Adjorlolo’s rants did not go down well with FIPAG as they claim his rant has dented the image of some of it’s members.
President of the association James Aboagye in a recent interview with GhanaWeb stated that Mr. Adjorlolo failed to “use internal structures”.
“You’ve not reported to Actors Guild nor FIPAG, neither did you mention names… Then at the end of the day, you come out to make unnecessary complains and say negative things”.
