Check The Data Before Speaking, Don’t Embarrass Yourself” – Bawumia replies to John Mahama

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia the vice President of Ghana has finally replied former president John Dramani Mahama.

In a live Facebook session last week, John Mahama with his supporters, said the much-praised Ghanaian economy by the governing New Patriotic Party had failed the test of time.

The former president said it broke down after it got hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, in a swift response by Dr. Bawumia, he said Mahama should first check the facts for himself before giving a remark about him.

He addressed the former president during a media interaction after a COVID-19 response team meeting on Monday the 4th of May, 2020. He said:

“My humble advice to former President John Mahama is [that he should] take a look at the data, this is not green book data. Take a look at the data before you speak, otherwise, you will end up embarrassing yourself.

When it comes to the data, it has been very clear; in agricultural growth, we have performed better; industry growth, we have performed better; inflation, we have performed better, on the interest rate, we did perform better; exchange rate depreciation, we have performed better. That is the data.”
